When
I go away tomorrow
Will I stay here in my mind
I have had enough of looking back
At what I've left behind
When the moment that I've longed for
Is the moment I regret
Will I understand the reasons
For the things I can't forget
When
I think of all my dearest friends
I feel them in my heart
Would we be so close I wonder
If we weren't so far apart
At the peak of my desire
I'm a million miles away
And its only when the flamed die down
I know the words to say
Now the sun
prepares the morning
As the moon prepares the night
For the miracles that happen
In our hearing and out sight
And if I could see and hear the pulse
Of every night and day
Then I would not be concerned about
This part I have to play
No I do not
wish to let love pass
Or turn it from my door
There is only one thing that I know
I never can ignore
If I call your name in darkness
Please remind me of the light
I will try to do the same for you
With every word I write
LIGHT
AGAIN ©Rebecca Wave
Have
I lived in the shining place?
Do I live in the shadow of the moon?
Do I dwell in abiding grace?
Do I walk in the golden afternoon?
Pass
through thunder, pass through rain,
Hear the anguished voices howl.
In the morning, after all,
We will see the light again.
I
have watched the silence of the mountains,
I have heard the sky grow calm.
Do
I float in brooding ocean?
Do I know where I was born?
Pass through
anger, pass through pain,
Breathe the air, so rare and pure.
Have I ever been so sure
We will see the light again?
TAKE AWAY
THE STING ©Rebecca Wave
Sometimes
I try building some bridges,
And they all fall down.
And sometimes I might try to
wade
right over,
Headed for that golden, seven-gated town,
And lately I just keep on walking,
Encouraged by some
loving
up ahead inside,
But mostly I let time take away the sting.
You know
it really puzzles me
now
and then
To see the way we all can be--
Wanting so much the kingdom
and
the power and the glory,
But we're never willing to be free.
My mother always told me,
"Everybody's got
the
same 24 hours in every day,"
But far as I can tell, Mom, it's just time
Takes away the sting.
I never had
much luck in love,
I guess it must be in the stars,
But I've learned two things
I thought I'd never learn--
To play my music and to drive a car.
Eventually we all get exactly
what
we wanted,
If not exactly what we think
we
may deserve,
But come what may,
I let time take away the sting.
Little things,
they come to mean a lot,
Like waking with the one
you loved the night before,
And little words make
fairy
tales and tragedies--
I love you--I don't love you anymore,
And little places take up all my room,
Like that place in your heart
you
filled with someone else,
But in a little while, I know
Time will take away the sting.
Someday I
want to break into
a
motion picture
And be a moving picture of a star.
I'll cover Hollywood with a
mist
of honest starlight--
I will go quite far.
I hear the big producers
are
upset by competition
So I'll just say a few words and
stumble
home with my reward:
I'll just whisper
"Time always
takes
away the sting."
And if someone
should ever
come
to you in trouble,
Crying for what the past
did
not and the
future
may not ever bring,
Just tell them--
but
not too soon--tell them
Time will take away the sting.
HERE FOR
THE BUFFET ©Rebecca Wave
His
guide told Edgar Cayce,
"Don't worry about the money,
Your family won't go hungry,
Just do the work you came for."
Edgar said "OK,
I'm in all the way--
After all, I'm
here for the buffet."
A
cactus on the West Coast
Blooms every 20 years
With a 20-foot erection
Crowned in 30 creamy flowers.
Its head is in the sky,
'Til it withers and dies
That's OK, it
came for the buffet.
If
you're lucky,
Someone meets you at the door,
Smiles and invites you to stay.
If
there's any trouble,
Stand firm, don't squirm:
It's not exclusive, don't be elusive.
I stand upon
the precipice and
Dive into the sea,
Close my eyes and feel the waves
Swelling under me.
A phone rings, a thought clings,
I'm back inside the day-anyway,
I'm here for the
buffet.
ANIMALANGEL
©Rebecca Wave
Where
did you come from?
I always knew you.
What could I run from?
I can see through you.
Shadow and sun shimmer in one
Animalangel.
Eyes
of my lover,
Sea-green and amber,
Reach in and touch me.
I can remember
Water and earth sharing the birth
of Animalangel.
Animalangel,
Do you know where we go
In our flight?
Animalangel,
With our wings and our teeth
And our light?
Can I control
you?
Have I the power?
I never sold you,
Hour
to hour,
Spirit and bone, never alone,
Animalangel.
Passionate
child, holy and wild,
Animalangel, Animalangel.
DRAWN
©Rebecca Wave
Drawn into
your eyes,
I seldom wonder where I'm going,
No word to make me wise,
Beyond the certainty of knowing,
Like water lilies rooted in the
River swiftly flowing,
We're swept along with open arms,
Embracing what we're
Growing into.
Your wild
hair above me
Bbrushes softly on my shoulder,
Your mouth is full of gifts for me,
My innocence unfolds you,
The years have shaped our bodies
And our spirits, strong and able,
Have brought us here to serve and clear
The feast upon our table.
Darkness
in the heart, a call
To rise from the familiar,
You want me there; I share the grief
And beauty we have spilled there,
The mystery you keep for me
I harvest in my vineyard,
And pour the wine we drink in time
To heal what doubt has injured.
You are cell
to cell
The touch I know so well,
The face of my delight,
The flame that love ignites,
And I need you to see
The truth inside of me,
The hero proud and free
Who rides on fervently,
And you're my only-one,
Knight of my rising sun,
My precious bird in hand,
Released in love again.

SOLID
CLOUDS ©Rebecca Wave
I wake to
the flutter of
Wings in my face,
Stirred by the wind of
Amazing grace.
Each time I stumbled on every
Root along the ground,
Now I catch the warmer currents
'Til the cold air brings me down.
These solid
clouds of love we are,
Shifting in a constant sky,
Touching earth remind me that I know
I've seen you in a crowded world before.
I read your
body
Like a history,
I've learned your ancient battles
In the sailing of your seas.
Your words are artifacts,
The culture of your soul,
Like poetry uncovered
In a broken bowl.
So long,
I'll be seeing you.
Dance forever in the
Moment that we know,
Gesture to the stars and
Home again we go.
I sleep in
the hollow of your
Shoulder and your breast,
Riding your heartbeat
In the trough and crest.
The caring for the children
And the bearing of the light
Carry us on
Into the day and night.
These solid
clouds…
BRIGHT
DAYS ©Rebecca Wave
Bright, bright
days of my
Childhood shining,
Open up the window to a
New world rising,
Reach for the sun on the
Gold horizon,
Oh, what a fine
career!
Grab another
year as it
Waltzes by me,
Glide across the floor and let the
Music guide me,
Future in my arms and the
Past beside me,
Holding the hands
of time.
Bright, bright
days,
Looking in the eyes of love,
I can see the corner of a
Silver lining shining
Through the darkest
clouds above.
Angel in
the heart of a
Child grown older,
Dancing in the embers of a
Life grown colder,
Kicking off the chip that was
On my shoulder,
Kindling the flame
again.
Bright, bright
days….
YOU
©Rebecca Wave
I see you
in the sunlight
See you in the firelight
See you in the
dark when we touch
I feel you on the telephone
Taste you in my daydreams
Hear you in the
songbirds' hush
You-- live
in every part of me now
I-- love you every way that I know
Take me with
you downtown
Take me with my guard down
Take me where
I want to go
I can feel your heartbeat
Walking down a dark street
Standing in the
moonlight alone
You…
I can see
you now
With a furrowed brow
Staring at the story you're
Spinning somehow;
Playing your guitar
Giving me a star
Filling up my heart with the
Miracle you are
You…
Father and
a mother
Caring for another
Taking it a step
at a time
Looking for the kind way
Leave behind the blind way
Clearing out a
path we can climb
You…
CHANGE
©Rebecca Wave
Storm
clouds shot through
With new moon light--
I walk in solitude tonight.
Wild, heavy sky,
I feel the wrench of losing
For the sake of getting clear,
The discipline of choosing.
Change--the
season of my discontent,
New growth begun in
Turbulence and
tears,
Change--the leaving is the money spent.
The children learn
That love wins
over fear.
Let
the walls crumble,
Let the floodwaters roll,
No time to be humble when we
Need to be whole.
We found the source,
Cascading through the dark,
We found each other,
Stumbled on the mark.
Another storm
waits still in the air,
Another morning
And the day will be fair.
Wind shifting,
Current running strong,
Hearts lifting,
Yearning for the song.
Change …
ROAD
©Rebecca Wave
I feel like
a road,
Feel just like a road,
Solid earth and runnin'
To the end.
It's been a long time,
Feels like a long time,
I tried to go straight
But it seems
I always have
to bend
There's somethin' I can do,
Somethin' I can do,
Got to get on with the things I do.
I'm goin'
back to my home town,
Gonna settle down,
Gonna let some people have
What I can give.
When I think about love I can
Feel you around and it
Calls me to the river and the
Will to live.
There's
somethin' I can see,
Somethin' I can feel,
Got to believe in the things I feel.
This world
is like a oyster
Workin' on a pearl:
Gotta take some aggravation
Before it gets to shine.
I've seen so many colors
On a mountainside
I've got to fill my heart up
Just so i don't lose my mind.
I don't know where it goes,
Don't know where it goes,
Just wanna hear it
When it calls my name. (repeat)
I COME
TO YOU ©Rebecca Wave
When I see
you shining,
Free love in your fine eyes
I come
To you.
Pouring through the darkness,
Swimming in the searchlight,
I come
To you.
I come, To,
You. (2x)
Call me when
you want me,
Anytime you need me,
I come
To you.
Call me with a full heart,
Come from where it all starts,
I come
To you.
I come, To,
You. (2x)
I come, To,
You. (2x)
Show me what
you brought me,
Take the things you taught me,
I come
To you.
Know me like your own mind,
Knowing what we can find,
I come
to you.
Chorus
